Have you heard of African Mahogany hardwood? This species comes from West tropical Africa. It varies in color from deep reddish brown to a pale pinkish brown. Either color tends to darken with age.
The African Mahogany hardwood has a straight, interlocking grain with a medium to coarse texture. It is easy to work with as it glues easily.
